Who's not playing NICE???

I am disappointed in the negative campaign against Kevin Durant after his first and ONLY ejection from a game for his entire career. It saddens me that immediately following this incident  a campaign was started on the internet "Kevin Durant is not NICE". This played right into Nike's ad campaign to make even more money! I have met KD and he spent a few minutes with my 16 year old outside of the Thunder practice arena. He is very humble, gracious and giving. We make mistakes, all of us. I think when celebrities or sports figures mess up, the media has a field day. Last week KD went to Children's Bethany hospital to meet a young boy who has truly defied odds and KD noticed his tweet. Media has now speculated that this was just a ploy to get his lilly white image back. Who's NOT playing nice? Kevin Durant has ALWAYS done community service, made hospital visits since the beginning. Let's let this incredibly humble, passionate, supernaturally talented young many catch a break. I guarantee you he will learn from his mistake and be better and stronger for it. I am still your BIGGEST fan! Thunder UP!

Kevin Durant Makes Disabled Boy's Birthday Wish Come True

Durant says he first saw the tweet on Monday just before his game in Washington D.C. The next day, the basketball star was walking the halls of The Children's Center. OKLAHOMA CITY -
You can never underestimate the power of Twitter and a boy's birthday wish! On Tuesday, that combination brought a smile to the face of a patient at The Children's Center with the help of a Thunder superstar.
OKC Thunder forward Kevin Durant has 3.3 million followers on Twitter. People are tweeting him constantly, but among all of the social media shout outs, one about a boy named Marcus stood out.
Marcus has lived at The Children's Center in Bethany his entire life. He will turn 15 years old Thursday. Since he was born, he has battled a form a muscular dystrophy that attacks every muscle in his body. He can't talk, but he understands what people say especially when they're talking about his hero, Kevin Durant.
"When they told him that Kevin Durant was on his way, he got real excited," Marcus' mom Rafael Ervin said. "His heart rate goes up when he watches the games because he's so excited."
Durant's visit to The Children's Center on Tuesday was his first. He says he got a lot out of the experience.
"I'm very blessed I got this opportunity," Durant said. "[Marcus is a] great kid. I'm just happy I'm here. To hear people say he's a big fan … means a lot."
Earlier in the week, The Children's Center tweeted a picture of Marcus to Durant letting him know Marcus wanted to meet him for his birthday. Durant says he first saw the tweet on Monday just before his game in Washington D.C. The next day, the basketball star was walking the halls of The Children's Center.
"For me, to come here and meet with Marcus and see all of the other kids as we're walking by, it shows that we have some really great people in this world," Durant said.
After signing a few autographs and giving Marcus a bunch of Thunder swag, Durant stayed to meet even more kids at The Children's Center.
"[The Children's Center is] a wonderful place, and they do wonderful things for all the patients here," Ervin said.
Doctors only gave Marcus three months to live when he was born. He has obviously defied the odds.
Durant says he'll be thinking of Marcus the next time he takes the court.

Benefits of using a realtor!!! A must read!

You may be in the process of Buying or Selling a Home and wondering "What Are The Benefits Of Using  A Realtor ®?"   Well, You Must Read This.....
If you were to look up the definition of a Realtor® you may find a definition lacking greatly in all the ways that we define the Many Hats That We Wear.  The decision to become a Realtor®, like any other profession, is a very individual one indeed.  Sure there are those who go into the Profession because they have heard that money can be made.  And there are those who go into it because of the flexibility of work hours.
SO - "What Are The Benefits Of Using A Realtor ®"?  Actually, the thought came to my mind today after reading a Blog written by a fellow Active Rain Member.  I'm sure our good friend, Rich Jacobson, in the State of Washington, won't mind if we mention him for the sake of this BlogYou see, Rich had written a very touching story in one of his Blogs that exemplified the very essence of What The Benefits Of Using A Realtor®Are.  The story was a touching one that showed the very human aspect of the ways in which a Realtor® connects to his/her clients.  When selecting a Realtor®, you'll want to consider the following list of the more obvious benefits.
  • Works diligently to represent client to market a property in an effort to sell for the best price possible.
  • Assist a Buyer in the purchase of a Property while guiding them through the process.
  • Stay abreast of modern Technologies affecting the marketing or communications process with customers.
  • Be proficient in Photography necessary for the marketing of properties.
  • Sustain a grasp on the analysis of the Real Estate market to aide in the pricing of Homes for Sale.
  • Must be familiar with neighborhood information in the areas of specialization.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Contracts and how the paperwork involved directly affects clients and customers.
  • Should have keen follow up skills to guide customers in the process.
  • Top Notch Negotiation Skills are a Must.
  • Staging Skills or the ability to advise Sellers when staging is necessary in order to best market a home.Girl In Hat
The Resume of a Real Estate Agent can go on and on and we have only scratched the surface here.  These are just some of the Benefits Of Using A Realtor ®.  As you can see we wear many hats! But Buying and Selling Homes is a "Business of People".   We can't help but be connected with the lives of those we spend numerous hours with in search of "HOMES"
We're involved daily with people's life dreams of Home ownership.  There are times when that involves happy events like Marriages.  But then there are life events such as Divorces that may cause the Sale of a Home.  Or tragically, the death of a Loved One can cause the sale of a home.  We've sat with clients that were so upset over a loss that they could hardly hold back the tears.  We've cried along with more than one client who was either distraught over a life altering event or elated with tears of joy over some happy event.
Child with Hat

There are often Chldren to consider in the search of a Family Home.  Schools and Daycare Centers must be explored.  Typically young couples bring the children along when searching for a home.  We've gotten to know many couples who later sent us the baby pictures of a new Family member after they settled into their new Homes!
Dog Wearing Hat

We've had more than one Listing with a Seller who needed us to mind the Family Pet in order for the home to be shown.

So in closing, consider this, The Benefits of Using A Realtor® are many.  We assist the public in so many of the details that might otherwise be stressful and lonely.   The Benefits of Using A Realtor® go beyond the mundane tasks of the business.  We're here to share the most precious times of the lives of those we serve.  It's with gratitude that we say it's these moments that make it all worthwhile for us!
